Austrian parties are close to forming a coalition government

Three largest parties from the central camp in the Austrian parliament announced in a statement that they have practically agreed on the formation of a coalition government. After lengthy negotiations, the Austrian People's Party, the Greens, and the New Austria and Liberal Forum are close to an agreement.

They hope to sign the coalition deal next week. In this way, a government will be created that will take power after the Austrian government collapsed in December.

"We state that we have an agreement on each individual topic," representatives of the three parties emphasized. "We will continue to work further to finalize it in days."

After a general agreement, consultations with party members will follow for the final approval of the package. "We haven't negotiated everything yet, but we are on the right track," confirmed well-known figures from the three parties.

Thus, Austria could receive a new government in the near future which will address the difficulties created by the political vacuum following the collapse of the previous coalition.
