The Russian company 'Gazprom' announced to the Austrian company OMV that it plans to reduce the supply of natural gas. According to Reuters information, this decision is related to accusations from the parties of breaching contracts. Consequently, the possibility of reducing gas export volumes to Europe in the coming months is not excluded.
An OMV representative confirmed the receipt of notifications from 'Gazprom' and expressed hope for a resolution of the conflict through dialogue. The parties have expressed their readiness for negotiations to resolve arising disagreements in order to mitigate harm to businesses and consumers.
'This issue requires thorough investigation within the framework of long-term partnerships between our companies. We hope for constructive dialogue and believe in the possibility of finding a mutually beneficial solution,' noted the OMV representative.
As it is noted, the decision of 'Gazprom' to reduce gas supply may affect energy prices in Europe and cause insecurity among consumers. Companies continue to interact for the successful stabilization of the situation and to support market stability.
