It is known that strong emotions can interfere with concentration and make people more vulnerable to fake news. However, unlike common belief, the results of studies indicate that emotions not only disrupt rational thinking but also significantly influence the way people process and react to information.
Research conducted by the Center for Complex Systems in Vienna confirmed a simple representation that emotions affect only the correct perception of information, and revealed a complex and multifaceted role that emotions play in shaping our perceptions and processes of decision-making.
As explained by Dr. Sara Johnson, the lead researcher of this study: "Our research evokes reflections on a simplified concept, according to which emotions are always considered a key factor in processing distorted information."
